CHR Duties
"CLUB HEAD REFEREE"
Structure:
Main focus for a C.H.R. is to recruit, develop, educate referees and support education sessions for players and coaches.
Duties:
- Working together with appointed referee schedulers within the club and
Referee schedulers to be under the direction of the C.H.R.
Minimum 2 schedulers for referee scheduling:
House League
SWRSL/LDYSL/WOYSL
Representative Leagues
Tournaments & Special Events
- Prepare Referee Payment System
- Organize Education sessions:
Monthly education topics for referees
Coordinate refresher topics for coaches and players (on and off the field)
Schedule Mini & Entry Level Referee Course through the OSA for new referees
Recommend referees from the club to the DRC to be moved to OSA Regional
Referees Program
- CHR to have an active roll within the club and be part of the club's
management team
- Supervise activities with schedulers to ensure all games are covered
- Prepare and Manage Yearly Budget:
Game fees
Use of Indoor Facility
Referee Clinics
Tournament and Special Events
- Coordination with:
Club Officials
Executive Members
Conveners
Tournament Committee(s)
Club Head Coach
CHR from other Clubs
District Referee Coordinator (DRC)
Referee Schedulers
Referees' Association
General:
- Assist with problem-solving in matters relating to refereeing issues.
- Work with the DRC to identify and encourage promising officials.
- Attend scheduled CHR workshops prepared by the DRC
- Be a member with the Referees Association
- Ensure policies and procedures of the O.S.A. are understood and followed by all club referees.
- Work to educate club coaches and players on the Laws of the Game.
- Prepare a Year-End Report summarizing activities and financials.
Note:
All referees must be active members with a club or Association.
