As new Environment Canada warnings are issued on Air Quality Index (AQI) resulting from smoke, Southwest Soccer will continue to monitor the status and communicate when action is mandated.

Due to the vast geographical landscape of Southwest Soccer air quality conditions will differ throughout our district. We recommend that clubs and leagues monitor local conditions and make programming decisions accordingly.

If conditions change while present at the field (appearance of smoke) the match can be delayed, not commence, or cancelled. Match Officials are asked to utilize water breaks where necessary. We advise all parties to proceed with common sense putting the health and safety of all participants first.

The Southwest District Soccer League has provided direction to member clubs on how to address AQHI moving forward. Please follow the published directions and communicate no later than 2:00pm if there are concerns.
