Southwest Soccer is excited to continue with the Southwest Soccer Scholarship Award for 2023.   This award is to be presented to two active Southwest Soccer members that demonstrate good character, leadership, and commitment to the sport of soccer in any capacity (player, coach, match official, other).

The scholarship is open to any Southwest Soccer member in good standing that is entering their first year of studies in a full-time program at an accredited Canadian post-secondary institution. 

Each scholarship consists of a $1,000 and will be awarded to the individuals that have best met the scholarship criteria and provided the greatest contribution to the District and their club’s programs.

Evelyn Papa has been involved in our district as a soccer player. 

Between 2009 and 2022, she was involved with Kitchener SC and Waterloo Minor SC.  As well, Evelyn was part of the Bluevale Collegiate Institute Varsity Girls soccer team from 2020 until May 2023.

Throughout her four years of high school at Bluevale Collegiate Institute, she was an Honour Roll student and on her last year, she received two University of Waterloo’s Scholarships for being an outstanding student graduating from a Region of Waterloo High School and for obtaining an admission average of over 95%.

Evelyn is now enrolled in a Double Degree program at the Wilfrid Laurier University to study Business Administration and at the University of Waterloo to study Mathematics.
